The Clockify alternative built to invoice —
and to put your AI agents on the clock
Clockify is a powerful, team-scale time tracker with a generous free tier. Tallymeter is the focused alternative for people and teams whose tracked hours need to become an invoice — at one flat price, with a native API so AI agents can track and bill their own work too.
Your hours become a numbered PDF invoice with your details and bank info — in the same tool, no export-and-import dance.
€9/month with everything included — timer, reports, invoicing, and full API access. No per-seat math as you grow.
A native MCP server and REST API. Point Claude Code or Cursor at it and each agent tracks its own time, labelled by name, ready to invoice.

A note on Clockify's free plan
Clockify's free plan is a genuinely good time tracker — unlimited projects, up to five users. But as of 2026 the parts that matter for getting paid moved to paid tiers. On the free plan you can't:
- • Set billable rates or amounts — so it can't tell you what your tracked time is worth.
- • Generate an invoice — invoicing is a paid feature.
- • Export to CSV or Excel — free exports are PDF only.
- • Run a report longer than 31 days — no quarter or year in one view; you export month by month.
In other words, the free plan tracks time but stops exactly where billing begins — the moment your income depends on the data, you're on a per-seat paid tier. Tallymeter puts the rates, invoicing, and exports in one flat price instead.
Put your AI agents on the clock
If you run AI agents, they do billable work — and until now nothing logged it. Tallymeter is a native MCP server: connect Claude Code, Cursor or any agent and it tracks the time each one spends, logs it against the right project, and tells you what's ready to invoice. Every agent's work is labelled by name, so a whole fleet stays attributable.
When Clockify is the better choice
We'd rather be honest than win the wrong customer. Clockify is the stronger pick if:
- • You have a small team (up to five) that only needs to track time, not bill from it — the free tracker covers that well.
- • You want deep enterprise features — SSO, scheduling, time-off, kiosk mode, dozens of native integrations.
- • You're only tracking hours, not turning them into client invoices.
If instead you track time to bill it — solo or as a team — and especially if you run agents — Tallymeter does that one job with far less surface area.
